Transformative yoga for every body — from your very first breath to advanced flow.
Behind every great yogi is a story of how they started. Whether you’ve never stepped on a mat or you’re coming back after a break — you’re in exactly the right place. Let’s bust a few myths first.
This is the number one worry for beginners — and it’s simply not true. You don’t need to be flexible to start. That’s the whole point. With regular practice your flexibility increases naturally, improving your mobility, posture, and muscle coordination over time.
Yoga is for every body — no matter your fitness level, age, size, or background. Anyone can practise and anyone can benefit.
Inversions look impressive on social media but they are not the goal of yoga — and not a requirement. Yoga is fundamentally about the connection between your mind and body. As you build strength and confidence, inversions may come naturally if and when it feels right for you.
There are many styles of yoga to explore. Finding the one that suits you matters far more than any single pose.
Yoga is an ancient practice with roots dating back over 5,000 years to India — and having grown up there, I can tell you it truly is for everyone. The word “yoga” means union, bringing together physical postures, breath, meditation, and ethical living into a complete system of wellbeing.
The benefits are real and proven:
Yoga helps you feel calmer and more flexible, builds muscle strength and tone, improves your breathing, energy and vitality, and is proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and even depression. It is not a religion — all you need is the willingness to show up.
If you’re brand new, Morning Flow or Gentle Evening are perfect starting points — both are designed for all levels. For something restorative, Yin & Restore is deeply nourishing. For more energy, Power Yoga is a great challenge once you have a few sessions under your belt.
Please don’t panic! Everyone in the room was once a beginner. Introduce yourself, let me know about any injuries, find a mat and relax. I always offer modifications. You will leave feeling better than when you walked in — I promise.
Wear whatever you are comfortable moving in. No special brand or equipment needed — just come as you are. Shoes come off at the door. Most students prefer bare feet on the mat, though grippy socks are fine too.
The honest answer is to try a few. I offer a free 15-minute consultation for new students — just get in touch and we’ll find the perfect starting point together.
The most important thing is simply to begin. Yoga meets you where you are today. No perfect pose, no ideal body, no right or wrong way to feel. Just show up, breathe, and let the practice do the rest.
All classes run at weekends so you can build a consistent practice without disrupting your working week. Private 1:1 sessions are available any day by appointment.
